
The Preparatory Committee for the upcoming Diocesan Synod convened a meeting today, July 17th, at the Pastoral Center Hall to deliberate on the way forward for this significant event. The committee, comprising priests, journalists, and some members appointed by the Bishop, gathered to discuss crucial aspects of the synod, scheduled to take place from March 3rd to 8th next year.

MEMBERS BRAINSTORMING ON A WAY FORWARD
The Preparatory Committee is tasked with proposing discussion topics for the synod, preparing questions, and addressing important concerns—such as: What kind of Diocese of Buea do we want after 75 years?
The Diocesan Synod will comprise representatives from diocesan services, vicars general, religious congregations, catechists, and invited observers from other denominations. These selected officials will be entrusted with the responsibility of discussing, suggesting, recommending, and making important decisions regarding the Diocese of Buea.

Worthy of note, the Diocesan Synod was convened by the chief shepherd of the Diocese, His Lordship Bishop Michael Bibi.
With the synod dates now set, the Preparatory Committee is working diligently to ensure that all necessary arrangements are in place. Their efforts will undoubtedly contribute to a fruitful and enriching experience for all participants.
