Staff from more than twenty-four diocesan services gathered on Wednesday, October 22nd, 2025, at the Bishop Pius Awa Memorial Pastoral Centre to commune with their employer and shepherd, the Bishop of Buea, Most Rev. Michael Miabesue Bibi.
The annual gathering, which brings together workers from the various diocesan departments, began with a solemn Holy Mass presided over by the Bishop. In his homily, Bishop Bibi expressed gratitude to all diocesan staff for their dedication and sacrifices in supporting the mission of evangelization and pastoral growth within the Diocese.
Following the Mass, participants moved to the Aunty Kate Banquet Hall, where heads or representatives of the different services each made a brief five-minute presentation highlighting the mission, achievements, and challenges of their respective units.

The professional exchange was both rich and enlightening, providing participants with deeper insights into the activities of the various services and revealing new possibilities for inter-departmental collaboration.
Speaking after the presentations, Bishop Bibi commended the initiative, noting that “even though five minutes may not be enough time for each unit to present fully, it provides a valuable window into the inner workings of all diocesan services.” He encouraged the staff to continue working in unity as one family and to hold regular meetings that foster collaboration and strengthen diocesan operations.
The day’s activities concluded with a colourful march past led by the Bishop himself, to the loud cheers and applause of the joyful diocesan workers — a symbolic gesture of solidarity and shared commitment to the mission of the Church in Buea.
