96 women have freely taken a commitment to serve the Lord through the Blessed Virgin Mary by becoming full flesh members of the Catholic Women Association CWA, of the Diocese of Buea. The dedication ceremony took place this 12th day of December 2024 at the Divine Mercy Co-Cathedral presided over by His Lordship Michael Bibi, Bishop of the Diocese of Buea. The dedication took place within the Feast Day Celebration of CWA Our Lady of Guadalupe .
These mothers have taken a vow to contribute to the growth of CWA and the Church through the services they offer to mankind . Bishop Michael Bibi in the course of the dedication of the mothers reminded them that they would henceforth be expected to devote their energy and talents to serve and not to be served and to be true witnesses to the Gospel.
Lighting their candles, the mothers were urged to be models of Mary and to emulate the life of the Holy Family of Nazareth; the family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph. They were encouraged to care for their families with love and dedication.
Named the 75th anniversary of Buea Diocese batch of evangelization, the newly dedicated were reminded that becoming a member of CWA is for the sole purpose to serve and not for personal enrichment nor glorification.
Speaking at the event, Mamy Enobi Christensia, Diocesan, President of CWA, extended appreciation to the Local Ordinary for giving his blessings and to Fr. George Ngomba, CWA Chaplain, for his sacrifices in guiding the group. She begged on the newly dedicated members to fix their eyes on Mary, their mother, and model .
The second part of the celebration took place in the Congress hall of the Bishop Pius Awa Memorial Pastoral Centre, where newly dedicated members received their dedication certificate and joined other mothers of CWA to commune in thanksgiving.
The celebration of this CWA Feast Day and the dedication of new members took place as part of activities marking the 75th anniversary celebration of the Diocese of Buea.
