The Catholic University Institute of Buea (CUIB) has announced the introduction of Bachelor of Science degrees in Nursing, Midwifery, and Medical Laboratory Science for the 2024/2025 academic year. This new development comes in response to the Cameroonian government’s recent decision to suspend admissions into the Higher National Diploma (HND) programs at all private universities across the country.
The four-year programs aim to equip students with the essential skills and knowledge needed to excel in the rapidly evolving healthcare sector. CUIB’s decision to expand its academic offerings in health sciences reflects its commitment to providing quality education tailored to meet the needs of the community.
In a press release signed by the President of CUIB, Rev. Fr. Bartholomew Anyanwu, on August 27, 2024, the university also announced a reduction in tuition fees for these programs, making them more accessible to prospective students. Additionally, various partial scholarship schemes will be available to support students financially.
With the addition of these new health science degrees, CUIB continues to solidify its reputation as a forward-thinking institution dedicated to providing holistic and industry-relevant education.
As the university gears up for the upcoming academic year, prospective students are encouraged to take advantage of these new opportunities and apply for admission to be part of the pioneering class in these critical health programs.
