The Annual CUIB Entrepreneurship and Academic Fair has officially begun, marking another milestone in the university’s tradition of fostering a growth mindset among students. The event was launched today, January 29, 2025, by the President of CUIB, Rev. Fr. Bartholomew Anyanwu, during an opening ceremony that commenced with Holy Mas.
The highly attended event brought together students, invited guests, and state dignitaries. In his opening remarks, Fr. Anyanwu commended his team for their dedication in organizing what he described as a flagship event of the university. He also praised the students for embracing the challenge of showcasing their entrepreneurial skills in a real-world marketplace during the fair.
Prof. Ernest Molua, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the University of Bamenda and a renowned entrepreneur, delivered an insightful talk on entrepreneurship and its challenges. His session was followed by words of encouragement from Senator Mbella Moki Charles and Hon. Malomba Esembe, MP for Buea Urban, who urged students to aim high and embrace the responsibility of shaping Cameroon’s future.
Following the speeches, Fr. Anyanwu led a guided tour of the various exhibition stands, where students enthusiastically presented their innovative projects and business ventures.
The fair, which runs until Sunday, February 2, 2025, offers students a unique platform to showcase their innovations, market their skills, and gain hands-on entrepreneurial experience. Beyond business exhibitions, the fair also features talent showcases, including the highly anticipated Mr. & Miss CUIB contest, dance and singing competitions, and other exciting performances.
This annual event reaffirms CUIB’s commitment to producing innovative, entrepreneurial, and job-ready graduates, equipping them with the skills to thrive in a competitive global economy.
