With a strong desire to enhance the functioning and pastoral effectiveness of the Diocese of Buea, the College of Consultors held its second and final session for 2025 on Friday, November 7th, at the Bishop’s Conference Room, Small Soppo. The meeting was chaired by the Chief Shepherd of the Diocese, Bishop Michael Bibi.
Discussions during the session centered on key matters affecting the diocese, including the growing concern of land encroachment on Church property, the level of preparedness for the upcoming Diocesan Synod, the conduct and pastoral discipline of priests, the forthcoming end-of-year harvest thanksgiving, and the overall welfare of priests.
The College of Consultors, made up of senior priests who play an advisory role in diocesan decision-making, works closely with the Bishop in charting the direction of the Church in Buea. Alongside the Presbyteral Council, both bodies meet biannually—at the start and close of each year—to assess the progress of pastoral and administrative goals.
