
Deans, Priests, and Religious of the Diocese of Buea joined Bishop Michael Bibi on February 14, 2025, to celebrate with Christians of St. Patrick Parish Bafia as they clock 10 years as a Parish and also for the dedication of the church.

Unity with the church was the message from the Chief Shepherd during this thanksgiving celebration, which was heavily attended by Catholics and non-Catholics of this village. He encouraged celebrants to remain hopeful in Christ and urged them to always let Jesus be their cornerstone.

10th anniversary celebration
The church has been dedicated to the Glory of God, under the title of Saint Patrick . Dedicating the church, the Relics of the Martyrs of Uganda were placed on the alter, an act that signifies union with the Saints in heaven and guides Christians in their journey of faith.

Bishop Michael Bibi further anointed the alter with Holy Chrism, signifying the presence of the Holy Spirit. The walls of the church were also anointed, signifying the consecration of the church to God .This church will continue to serve as a special place where the community gathers to pray, receive sacraments, and celebrate the Eucharist.
Prelude to the celebration of the Eucharist, the Local Ordinary paid a visit to Our Lady of Grace College Annex Bafia to encourage the students and administrators of this college not to give up on education. Bishop Bibi opened this college in Bafia this academic year 2004/2025, to give students the opportunity to enjoy their right to education after years of school shutdown due to the crisis rocking the Anglophone Regions of Cameroon.

He equally paid a courtesy visit to the members of the Eto Fan club in Bafia, who wished for the blessings of the prelate after taking the initiative of constructing a bridge in their community to ease movement of inhabitants and visitors. Bishop Bibi blessed the project and also supported it with 200,000frs.

The visit to Bafia was indeed a memorable event during which the Christians expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Chief Shepherd for all his support to this community including the provision of water, solar system, canopies, chairs, school just to mention a few, which has gone a long way to improve on the living condition of inhabitants. Bishop Bibi on this day was nicknamed by His Christians as “Bishop Talk and Do”.
