Consecrated men and women of the Diocese of Buea, have expressed appreciation to the chief shepherd of the Diocese; Bishop Michael Bibi, for providing a convivial space for the exercise of their work of evangelization within the Diocese. Referring to him as a bulldozer, the Religious congratulated the prelate for giving the Diocese a facelift enumerating the many achievements including the Divine Mercy Co-cathedral and the Bishop Pius Awa Memorial Pastoral Center which are all visible realities.
Speaking at the meeting for Religious organized within the framework of the Diocesan Pastoral Week, the president of CREPB Fr. Gaston Muh Njiche, on behalf of all the Religious, voiced their unwavering support and prayers to Bishop Michael Bibi as he executes His Mission in fostering works of evangelization in the Diocese.: “we the Religious of the diocese of Buea want to reiterate that we are not indifferent of what is taking place in the Diocese. For you have given us the space to put into practice our various charisms and spirituality by welcoming us. We promise you that we shall do just our best. We have decided today to wish you well and to say that all our communities will create time to pray for your ministry in this diocese” Fr. Gaston Muh Njiche noted.
Responding to the kind gesture by Religious of the Diocese, His Lordship Michael Bibi while thanking these consecrated men and women for their works of evangelization , encouraged them to go beyond their routines , and to be more present and involved in the pastoral life of the Diocese, using their different endowments and charisms for the development of the local church.
During the meeting which aimed at assessing the place and impact of the Religious in the implementation of the Provincial Pastoral Plan, these members were challenged to contribute, to participate and to belong in the pastoral activities that drive the growth of the Diocese.
Holding at the Bishop Pius Awa Memorial Pastoral Center in Molyko Buea on January 26th, 2024, the Religious presented their executives, put in place with a three-year mandate to lead the religious in the Diocese. These consecrated men and women were all called upon not to be passive agents of evangelization, but to be more committed in their work within the Diocese.
