
The parishioners of Queen of Angels Parish Bonjongo came together on June 15, 2025 to celebrate a momentous occasion, honoring Monsignor Jude Thaddeus Mbi in a thanksgiving mass held at the St. Therese Mission Station Wotutu. This grand celebration marked a significant milestone in the life of Monsignor Mbi, who has brought pride to the parish as the second Monsignor appointed from Bonjongo in 52 years.
The day’s festivities began with a holy mass, celebrated by Monsignor Mbi, joined by other priests in the parish at Saint Therese mission station Wotutu. The mass was followed by a reception at his residence at Uphill Bonjongo, where parishioners gathered to show their appreciation and love.
During the celebration, the parish presented Monsignor Mbi with a gift, and various groups and individuals also showered him with gifts in kind and cash. These gestures reflected the parish’s gratitude for his dedication and service.
Monsignor Mbi’s journey, from serving as Vicar General to becoming a Catholic Men Association (CMA) Chaplain and now a Monsignor of the Diocese, has been marked by his unwavering commitment to the Bonjongo Parish. Despite his busy schedule, he has always created time to assist the Parish Priest in celebrating masses. His role as an adviser and father figure has been invaluable, and his philanthropic efforts, particularly in agriculture, have made a significant impact on the community.
