On Friday November 15,2024, the eve of the celebration of the tenth anniversary of the accord-cadre between the Republic of Cameroon and the Holy See, Bishops of Cameroon welcomed Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher, the Holy See Secretary for Relations with States and International Organizations.
The reception took place at the National Episcopal Conference of Cameroon, in Yaounde, during which His Grace Archbishop Andrew Nkea, president of NECC, on behalf of the Bishops saluted the hospitality of Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher, for this special visit to Cameroon on behalf of the Holy Father Pope Francis, to thank God for ten years of a legal framework between Cameroon and the Catholic Church and to listen to his brother Bishops as they journey together to make the work of evangelization more effective in the country.
He further greeted the presence of the Nuncio to Cameroon and Equatorial Guinea, Archbishop Avelino Bettencourt, and noted that this visit is timely as the Bishops look forward to a more beneficial collaboration.
The event was graced with color and excitement as Christians in their different dance groups displayed with joy, waving flags representing the state Cameroon and the Holy See.
