The opening Mass of the 76th Ordinary meeting of the Bamenda Provincial Episcopal Conference BAPEC, took place at Our Lady of Fatima Parish Ntaafi, Bamenda on August 18, 2024 and was officiated by Bishop George Nkuo, Bishop of the Diocese of Kumbo.

The President of BAPEC His Grace Archbishop Andrew Nkea, Archbishop of Bamenda, during his homily, used ten points to explain what the Eucharist is. Amongst these, he said that; in the Eucharist, Jesus is contained; that means Jesus is truly, really, fully, and perpetually present.

He also threw light on the importance of education, which was the focus of day one of the 2024 BAPEC meeting . He noted strongly that all the Bishops of BAPEC call on parents to send their children to school and urge those involved in promoting the crisis plaguing the Northwest and Southwest Regions of Cameroon not to disturb and harm children who want to go to school.
During the Eucharistic celebration, all five Bishops administered the Sacrament of Confirmation to some Christians of the parish community and Prayed that the Holy Spirit should accompany these Christians throughout their lives.
