
On February 19th, 2025, Bishop Michael Bibi conducted his 7th pastoral visit to the Saint James Parish Ikata, joining the local Christian community in a spirit of hope and resilience.

During his visit, the Bishop delivered an inspiring message focused on peace, encouraging the faithful to remain hopeful in the face of ongoing hardships, particularly those stemming from the crisis affecting the Anglophone Regions of Cameroon. He emphasized that God is the ultimate source of consolation and urged his congregation to remain prayerful and be advocates for peace.

Drawing on the teachings of John 13:34, Bishop Bibi reminded the faithful of the importance of loving one another and living in harmony. He expressed deep gratitude to the local priests, parishioners, and members of the traditional council for their unwavering contributions to the Church’s growth.

In addition to his spiritual guidance, Bishop Bibi emphasized the importance of education, encouraging students to pursue their studies diligently and calling on parents and teachers to support educational initiatives that foster community development.
Mr. Enow Thaddeus, the Parish Pastoral Council Chair, welcomed the Bishop and shared updates about the parish’s spiritual progress and current projects. He highlighted the community’s need for funds to further support various initiatives while thanking the Bishop for the provision of essential resources, including a water supply and generator.

The visit also saw expressions of gratitude from the Ikata Veterans Club, who thanked Bishop Bibi for the annual football tournament prize of one million Francs, noting its positive impact on community development.

Similarly, the Ikata Riders Union conveyed their appreciation for the Bishop’s initiative in organizing the tournament of peace, emphasizing how this event has fostered unity and camaraderie. The members of the Riders Union joyfully sang songs of victory, reflecting their gratitude and celebrating the tournament’s significance.

The event was organized by Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Etongwe and attended by the Dean of Muyuka Deanery and other priests in the area, highlighting the strong bonds of faith and community within Ikata.
