Workers from over 19 services of the Diocese of Buea, have been appreciated for the enormous sacrifices they make in assisting the Local Ordinary of the Diocese of Buea in carrying out the work of evangelization within the Diocese. This recognition was made during a thanksgiving mass organized in honor of diocesan services, to thank God for the blessings and graces on the workers and to pray as one family dedicated to serve the Church in its one mission of evangelization.
Presiding over the Eucharistic celebration, the Chief Shepherd Michael Bibi, thanked these members of the diocesan curia whom he appointed to provide services to the populace within their different places of work. He called on the leaders of these different services to be servant leaders who recognize the efforts put in by the workers assigned to them, and reminded them that a good leader is one who sympathizes with the needs of the workers, have concern for the common good, treat others with respect and dignity and who provides a conducive environment for others to serve.
On the other hand, the Chief Custodian urged workers of the different services; Education secretariate, diocesan health services, communication services, REPAFIN etc, to respect and to collaborate with their leaders in the spirit of love so that harmony should be the end goal for the good of the diocese. He further appealed to all services to shun unhealthy competition and to work in collaboration with one another.
Speaking on behalf of workers of Buea diocesan services, the director of caritas Mr. Pierre Tchinda, thanked the Bishop for this annual celebration with workers and reassured him of their commitment to service as they work for the good of the diocese.
The ceremony organized within the framework of the 75th anniversary of the Diocese of Buea was thrilled by presentations from St Martin Choir, UB Parish.
