
Members of the Presbyteral Council and the College of Consultors convened in the Bishop’s conference room in Small Soppo on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 for an important meeting chaired by His Lordship Michael Bibi. According to Chancellor Rev. Fr. Michael Kengnjoh, the meeting aimed to address pressing issues within the diocese, including arrangements for the funeral of Rev. Fr. Nicholas Happi.

Other topics on the agenda included preparations for the upcoming celebration of the 75th anniversary of the canonical erection of the Diocese of Buea, which will be officiated by the Vatican representative, Archbishop Fortunatus Nwachukwu, Secretary for the Dicastery for Evangelization. Rev. Fr. Kengnjoh emphasized that comprehensive plans are being made to ensure this diplomatic visit receives the grandeur it deserves.

Speaking about the meeting, Rev. Fr. Asek Benard, chair of the Association of Diocesan Priests, noted that the discussions were rich in content, also covering the upcoming celebration of the 25th anniversary of Bishop Michael Bibi’s priestly ordination, scheduled for July this year.
Attendees further addressed the forthcoming Diocesan Lenten Pilgrimage, Chrism Mass, and the upcoming priestly ordination slated for April 2025
