
During a significant Pastoral Visit to Saint Paul’s College Bonjongo, on the 26th of February 2025, His Lordship Michael Bibi, Bishop of Buea and Proprietor of Catholic Schools in the Diocese, called on students to prioritize their studies, avoid criminal activities, and express gratitude towards their parents and teachers for their unwavering support in ensuring academic success.

The Bishop’s visit, accompanied by Catholic Education Secretary Rev. Fr. Vincent Messue, included a Eucharistic celebration with the college staff and students, reinforcing the importance of community and faith in education.

In his address, Bishop Bibi commended the principal and faculty for their resilience in keeping the college operational, despite the ongoing challenges posed by the Anglophone crisis, which has impacted student enrollment in recent years. The visit also doubled as the opening Mass for the 2024/2025 academic year, heralding a new chapter of learning and personal growth.

Drawing inspiration from Romans 5:5, the Bishop emphasized the theme of hope, reminding students that true joy and happiness can only be found in Jesus. He urged everyone to trust in God’s providence and work together to cultivate the college as a beacon of hope and positivity during this “Year of Hope,” as declared by Pope Francis.
The Proprietor invited them to reflect on their priorities and to understand the value of hard work and perseverance while encouraging the students to embrace their educational journey with dedication and purpose.
