The Parish Priest of Holy Trinity Parish Reverend Fr. Teyo James and his parishioners, count themselves lucky to be part of this Parish as they enumerate the many blessings brought upon them through His Lordship Michael Bibi, Bishop of the Diocese of Buea. Amongst these blessings is the newly completed duplex presbytery put in place to enable the priests serve this Christian community in real time. While on a Pastoral Visit to this Community, this 28th day of November 2023, the Chief shepherd Michael Bibi, invoked God’s blessings upon this presbytery and its occupants, asking Him to guide them at all times.
In a Eucharistic celebration with faithful, Bishop Michael Bibi prayed for peace in this area; one which is often being affected by the sociopolitical crisis plaguing the Northwest and Southwest Regions of the country since 2016. He encouraged the Christians to stay firm in their belief and to know that even in difficulties, God does not abandon His own. While commending them for trusting in God and growing in spirituality, the Chief Shepherd enjoined the Christian population to take stock of their spiritual life so as to make amends in the areas where they failed, as the liturgical year draws close to an end.
Referencing paragraph 140 of the Catechism of the Catholic Church , the Bishop called on the Christians to be patient and to live according to God’s teachings, for no one he says, knows the end time.
Addressing participants during this annual visit of the prelate; an activity which enables him to pray with his Christians and listen to their concerns, the Dean of Muyuka Deanery Rev. Fr. Asek Bernard, while expressing thanks to the Bishop for always being together with the suffering community of the deanery, invited the Christians to also pray for wisdom, good health and protection on the Bishop as he shepherds the flock of the Diocese.
On his part, the parish priest Rev. Fr. James Teyo used this rare moment to thank the Bishop for all that has been accomplished at the parish especially the completed presbytery and the provision of a free parish car which facilitates their movement in the execution of the works of evangelization.
To this Christian population, the presence of the Bishop always gives them joy, hope and encouragement in their Christian life.
It is worth noting that Communing with the Catholic community, we’re reverend pastors from different denominations and the members of the Christian women fellowship of the Presbyterian church. The Bishop commended this show of communism and prayed for protection on all present.
