April 22, 2024, Buea – The Bishop of the Diocese of Buea His Lordship Michael Bibi embarked on a visit to supervise various ongoing projects. Accompanied by the Education Secretary Rev. Fr. Mesue and the Chairperson of the Laity Council, Mr. James Vivonge, the Bishop’s tour aimed to assess the progress of significant developments within the Diocese.
The first stop on this enlightening journey was at All Saints Parish in Mutengene. Here, the Bishop and his delegation oversaw the construction of rental shops for the parish. Engaging with the parish priest, the Bishop received firsthand updates on the project’s status and took the opportunity to encourage the diligent workers involved.
From Mutengene, the Bishop’s journey led him to the heart of Buea, where the magnificent Divine Mercy Co-Cathedral stands tall. This marked the Bishop’s second visit to this grand structure in less than a week, showcasing his dedicated commitment to the progress of this jewel of the Diocese. The Bishop, accompanied by his delegation, meticulously inspected the ongoing works, focusing on the basement of the cathedral and the presbytery currently under construction on the premises.
During this visit to the Co-Cathedral, a significant moment unfolded as the Bishop was presented with 18 brand-new speakers. These speakers, a vital addition, will form the core of the building’s sound system, enhancing the worship experience for all who gather within its walls. The Bishop expressed gratitude to the technician and observed the meticulous finishing touches being applied to this sacred space.
Continuing his tour, the Bishop proceeded to the Bishop Pius Awa Memorial Pastoral Center, a beacon of modernity and spiritual growth within the Diocese. Here, the Bishop and his delegation inspected the impressive 1500-capacity ultra-modern hall under construction. Additionally, they reviewed progress on the construction of the convent, which will serve as a residence for the dedicated sisters who will manage the center upon its completion.
The Bishop and his delegation departed the sites, visibly pleased with the progress witnessed. Their visit served as a testament to the dedication and hard work of all involved in these significant projects within the Diocese of Buea. With each brick laid and each detail attended to, these developments continue to shape the future of the diocese, ensuring a vibrant and flourishing community for generations to come.
