Prelude to the reception of Holy Orders, 12 Acolytes have been incardinated to the Diocese of Buea by His Lordship Michael Bibi, after their open profession of Faith in serving the one Holy Catholic Church and the Oath of Fidelity on assuming an office to be exercised in the name of the Church, as they embrace the ministry come June 29th, 2024, when they shall be ordained as Deacons of the Diocese of Buea.
This ritual which took place in the early hours of June 28th, 2024 at the Divine Mercy Co-Cathedral, is the first step of the priesthood journey, and by their incardination, these acolytes are “married” to the Diocese, to serve the church according to its Faith, and moral teachings .
The Eucharistic celebration officiated by the Local Ordinary of Buea Bishop Michael Bibi, was attended by the Christian community of the Divine Mercy Co-Cathedral who together prayed to God to grant these candidates who shall be ordained Deacons, the graces they need to commit themselves to the ministry they embrace.
Before their incardination to the Diocese of Buea, it should be noted that these candidates were recommended for admission by the seminary and their bans were called in different parishes for three consecutive Sundays after which no negative feedback was gotten.
These acolytes shall be ordained deacons on Saturday June 29th, 2024 at the Divine Mercy Co-Cathedral during a Eucharistic celebration beginning at 9.am
