The Bishop of the Diocese of Buea, His Lordship Michael Miabesue Bibi, paid a pastoral visit to St. Joseph Parish, Muyuka today Saturday November 23rd 2024, extending gratitude to the Christian community for their unwavering faith and commitment to God. He noted that this steadfast faith has enabled them to endure the challenges of the ongoing Anglophone crisis.
The visit occurred within the framework of the Diocese of Buea’s 75th-anniversary celebrations under the theme: “Proclaim the Good News; I Am With You Always.”*
During his address to the Christians, Bishop Bibi expressed appreciation for the prayers and generosity of the Christians in Muyuka, which have significantly contributed to the completion of the Jubilee projects, including the Pastoral Center and the Divine Mercy Co-Cathedral.
“I urge you not to grow weary in your prayers, as they go a long way in sustaining the Parish, Deanery, and Diocese,” he encouraged.
In his homily, the Bishop drew inspiration from the Book of Exodus, where God revealed Himself to Moses. He reminded the faithful that the God of Moses is still with them today and will always accompany them through their trials.
He emphasized that, like Moses, Christians encounter God in a special way through the Eucharist. He assured them that God sees their suffering and pain and will continue to journey with them in their Christian lives.
Bishop Bibi urged the christains of Muyka to surrender themselves fully to God, just as the Blessed Virgin Mary did, so that He may use them for His glory on earth and grant them eternal life in heaven.
The visit also provided an opportunity for the Christians of Muyuka to present their challenges. The Bishop assured them that he would address their concerns to the best of the Diocese’s capacity.
