Bishop Bibi Visits Idenau: Urge Christians To Love Each Other And To Focus On The Final Destination!
Faithful of Christ the King Parish Idenau happily welcomed Bishop Michael Bibi this Sunday, the 14th of April 2024, as he arrived in this community for his routine pastoral visit.
His message to this Christian community constituted that of love for one another. He urged the faithful to show love to one another just as Christ commanded his apostles to do. Making reference to paragraph 655 of the catechism of the Catholic Church, Bishop Michael Bibi schooled Christians on the paschal Mystery which he says is the suffering, death and the resurrection of Christ.
He noted that the death of Christ freed the world from sin and His resurrection opened a new way of life. He told the Christians not to forget about the final destination which is the kingdom of God.
The prelate further exalted the people of God to live according to God’s wish. Keeping God’s law he reiterated, is a sign of love towards him and should be achieved by staying away from hate while showing love to one another every day.
On behalf of the parish community, the parish pastoral council chair person, expressed gratitude to the local ordinary for assigning vibrant and humble priests to cater for their spiritual needs. He encouraged the Bishop to continue the great works in the diocese and preassured him of their unwavering support towards the achievement of his pastoral mission. He equally informed the Bishop that significant progress has been registered in their Parish which is hosted in a cosmopolitan town with a growing economy.
Bishop Michael Bibi while celebrating mass in this parish church for the very first time, saluted the generosity of the Christians towards completing the church. He invited them to grow this Christian environment into one that helps faithful to live in unity and humility.
