The synod will serve as an opportunity to reflect on the strengths and weaknesses of the Diocese, identifying areas for improvement that will enable the Bishop to make informed decisions for the community’s benefit. Key areas of focus include evaluating the various components of the Diocese, such as pastoral life, parishes, schools, communication, health services, and other institutions.

The primary purpose of the synod is to listen to the perspectives of Christians for the well-being of the Diocese. This inclusive forum will allow congregants to express their opinions, which the Bishop will consider in making final decisions. According to Canon 460 to 468, participation in the synod is open to both Catholics and non-Catholics, ensuring diverse viewpoints are heard. Members of the synod are expected to be individuals who are firm in their faith, possess good moral character, and demonstrate loyalty to ecclesiastical authority while adhering to Church teachings.

In the preparatory phase, a steering committee will develop a working document to facilitate a survey distributed across all parishes and institutions. The gathered responses will be analyzed and presented back to the committee to inform recommendations.
The Bishop also highlighted the crucial role of the media in ensuring that Christians understand, engage with, and actively participate in the synodal process aimed at evaluating the life of the Diocese.
