To accord Christians the opportunity for spiritual guidance and to obtain timely pastoral services from priests as the needs arise, the local ordinary of Buea Diocese is on another construction mission to establish presbyteries in parishes of the Diocese of Buea. On Monday the 26th of August, 2024, the Chief Shepherd Michael Bibi, flanked by his priests, paid a curtsey visit to some of these parishes to inspect ongoing construction of their presbyteries.
At St Michele Archange, Bwitingi, the foundation is set for the raising of walls in the days ahead. Bishop Bibi while at the site, saluted the efforts made by parishioners of this parish towards the institution of the parish presbytery.
The prelate further made a stop at Saint Therese of the Child Jesus Parish in Mekongi, where he looked at the different rooms and overall setup of the presbytery.
This structure it is worth mentioning, has the capacity to host at least seven priests. It is made up of apartments and single rooms to be able to cater for the needs of the parish.
These presbyteries will go a long way to serve the priests as they live their vocation, and will provide a comfortable environment for them to attend to the spiritual needs of Christians entrusted to their care.
The raising of presbyteries in the Diocese of Buea is among the priorities of his Lordship Michael Bibi, as he strives to foster the work of evangelization in the Diocese.
