Mile 14 Dibanda, October 31, 2025
The Bishop of the Diocese of Buea, His Lordship Michael Miabesue Bibi, on Friday, October 31, 2025, celebrated the Holy Eucharist and officially installed the Blessed Sacrament in the tabernacle of the newly constructed chapel at the Convent of the Sisters of St. Thérèse of the Child Jesus at Mile 14, Dibanda.

Installation of the Eucharist
It was a moment of deep spiritual joy and thanksgiving for the sisters, who only a few months ago welcomed the Bishop to bless their newly built convent and chapel. The installation of the Blessed Sacrament marks a significant milestone in the spiritual life of the community, as the chapel now becomes a dwelling place of Christ’s real presence.
During his homily, Bishop Bibi reflected on the importance of the Blessed Sacrament, reminding the faithful that the Eucharist is the “source and summit of Christian life.” He explained that through the Eucharist, the faithful have the opportunity to worship, adore, and experience the abiding presence of Jesus Christ in their midst.

He emphasized that in every celebration of the Mass, the transformation of bread and wine into the Body and Blood of Christ—a mystery known as Transubstantiation—takes place, providing spiritual nourishment to all who receive Him. The Bishop further noted that the Sacrifice of the Mass re-enacts what Jesus did with His disciples at the Last Supper, making His saving act present “here and now” each time the Eucharist is celebrated.

“The Eucharist is not merely a remembrance of what happened over 2,000 years ago,” Bishop Bibi said, “but a living memorial in which Jesus is truly, really, and substantially present among us.” He reminded the sisters that through this sacred mystery, they share a foretaste of the eternal celebration with Christ in heaven.
The Bishop commended the Sisters of St. Thérèse of the Child Jesus for their dedication, prayer life, and contribution to the spiritual growth of the Diocese. He encouraged them to continue to live out their vocation with faith and humility, drawing strength and grace from the presence of the Blessed Sacrament now reserved in their chapel.
