
The Bishop of Buea, His Lordship Michael Miabesue Bibi, on Saturday, October 25th, 2025, embarked on a tour to inspect several key diocesan construction projects within the Diocese of Buea. The visit aimed to assess progress on the ongoing works and ensure that projects are being executed according to plan and standards.
Accompanied by Fr. Epie, Diocesan MC and the Diocesan Project Coordinator, Rev. Fr. Pascal Siben, the Bishop began his inspection at St. Joseph’s College Sasse, where a new dormitory is under construction. He examined the foundation work currently being laid and discussed with the construction team to better understand the progress and challenges on site.

The Bishop then proceeded to Molyko, Buea, where he visited the head office of Regina Pacis Microfinance (REPAFIN PLC) located at Checkpoint. He expressed satisfaction with the level of work done, noting that the building project is already in its final stages of completion.

From there, Bishop Bibi visited the newly constructed 54-room modern hostel complex situated near Sts. Peter and Paul University Parish, Molyko. He inspected the finishing works currently underway and interacted with some of the first students to occupy the building. The students expressed gratitude for the comfort and spaciousness of their rooms and its affordability. Encouraging the workers, the Bishop urged them to intensify their efforts and hasten completion since all rooms have already been booked and occupants are eager to move in.

The next stop was the Divine Mercy Co-Cathedral, where construction of the new presbytery is ongoing. The Bishop met with the project supervisor and emphasized the need to accelerate the pace of work. He carefully examined details such as tile alignment, window spacing, and staircase layout reflecting his personal commitment to ensuring that priests who will reside in the 12-room building enjoy a comfortable and conducive environment for pastoral ministry.

Bishop Bibi also stopped at the Bishop Pius Awa Memorial Pastoral Centre, where he reviewed ongoing renovation works. On his way there, he visited the plot designated for the Priests’ Retirement Home, located just behind the CMA building, showing his concern for the welfare of senior clergy members.

The inspection tour concluded with a visit to Bwitingi, where a new presbytery is being built for the francophone community, and finally a brief stop at the Directorate of Communication building near Clerks’ Quarters, Buea.

Throughout the tour, Bishop Bibi expressed appreciation for the dedication of project coordinators, engineers, and workers, while encouraging them to maintain high standards and ensure timely delivery. His visits reflected his hands-on leadership style and his vision for a more vibrant and infrastructurally developed Diocese of Buea.
