Sunday August 4th, 2024, The Local Ordinary of Buea His Lordship Michael Bibi, visited Christians of St. Augustine Parish Ikanje-Tiko, during which he confirmed 57 Christians and installed permanently the Blessed Sacrament in the parish Church.
During his maiden Pastoral Visit, the Bishop urged Christians to seek the food that lasts forever and nourishes the soul, which is Jesus, present in the Blessed Sacrament.
He reminded them that Confirmation is a Sacrament that enables Christians to receive the Holy Spirit and the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
The Blessed Sacrament, installed permanently in the Tabernacle, would enable priests to reach out to sick persons who cannot make it to church, and it is also meant to encourage Christians to adore Jesus, who is present in the Blessed Sacrament.
Welcoming the prelate to the parish community, the parish priest; Rev. Fr. Patrick Malange, saluted the presence of the chief shepherd and expressed gratitude to him for the support given to the church over the years and for making this house of God conducive for prayer.
On behalf of the Christians, the parish pastoral council chair, prayed on God’s Graces on the prelate and assured him of their availability to answer his call whenever the need be.
Leaving St. Augustine Parish, the Chief custodian made a brief stop at St. Joseph College Tiko to ascertain the level of work achieved in the construction of their parish hall.
