Tuesday August 20, 2024, Bishops of the Ecclesiastical Province of Bamenda, continued holding the 76th Ordinary meeting of the Bamenda Provincial Episcopal Conference in the Archbishop’s Conference room in Bamenda during which they focused discussions on issues related with the major seminaries.
During the meeting of the Board of Governors of Major seminaries, the Bishops listened to reports from St John Paul II Major Seminary Bachuo Ntai, Mamfe Diocese, St Thomas Aquinas Major Seminary Bambui, Archdiocese of Bamenda and St. John Mary Vianney Spiritual Formation Centre, Bafut, Archdiocese of Bamenda . The reports highlighted the Human, Spiritual, Intellectual and pastoral formation of seminarians, as the seminaries strive to ensure that seminarians imbibe the mind of Jesus Christ and acquire virtues that are relevant to the priestly ministry and the salvation of souls.
They lauded the formators for the work of discernment carried out with commitment and urged them to remain steadfast in their efforts in guiding the seminarians who have committed themselves to answer to the call of God.
The goal of seminary formation it is worth noting, is to raise up men to be virtuous leaders, humble servants, and devout men of prayer who are eager to give their lives fully to Christ and His Church.
Joining the Bishops for this meeting were Rectors and Vice Rectors of the Major Seminaries in Mamfe, and Bamenda.
