On Monday, August 10, 2025, the Chief Shepherd of the Diocese of Buea, the local Bishop Michael Bibi, led a doctrinal session at Saint Martin de Porres Parish, Bokwango. The session focused on the Social Communication Commission, an integral part of the Bamenda Provincial Pastoral Plan. The doctrinal session aimed to teach the public and deepen their understanding of the importance of social communication and the use of social media in disseminating the Word of God and the works of the Church.
The Bishop underscored the pivotal importance of social communication and social media as tools for evangelization. Given the missionary mandate as Christians to go into the world and spread the Good News (Mark 16:15), the Chief Shepherd encouraged all agents of evangelization to actively utilize social media to make Christ known, heard, followed, and worshiped.

He called on them to be champions of peace, truth, and objectivity, promoting a society built on understanding and mutual respect.
The social media is an indispensable tool towards achieving the missionary mandate of spreading the Good News, and as such, communicators should be cautious in their commitment to spreading information
