Christians of Saint Andrew Parish, Muea, gathered on Sunday, 30 August 2026, to welcome the Bishop of the Diocese of Buea, His Lordship Michael Bibi, for the concluding day of his two-day pastoral visit.

The visit climaxed with a Pontifical Holy Mass presided over by the Chief Shepherd, during which he administered the Sacrament of Confirmation to 67 candidates. Through the anointing with Sacred Chrism, the confirmands were strengthened in faith and commissioned as soldiers of Christ to bear witness to the Gospel in their daily lives.
The celebration was also a moment of communion, as Bishop Bibi prayed with his flock, encouraged them, and offered pastoral assurance to a community that has in recent years been affected by conflict and unrest. The concluding Mass followed a full day of visitation on Friday, when the Bishop toured all seven mission stations that make up the parish.
In his homily, Bishop Bibi reminded the faithful that Christianity demands sacrifice, calling on them to renounce worldly ways and follow Christ faithfully even at great cost. He urged the faithful to embrace synodality, to remain in communion with the Church and with the priests entrusted with their pastoral care.
Newly confirmed christians
Addressing the newly confirmed directly, the prelate exhorted them to live out their Christian vocation with courage, letting their thoughts, words and actions reflect Christ. He stressed that unwavering faith and authentic communion are essential marks of true discipleship.
