
Thousands of students, business owners, and residents of Buea on Tuesday, February 4, 2026, converged on the Molyko Campus of the Catholic University Institute of Buea (CUIB) for the official launch of the 2025/2026 Entrepreneurship and Academic Fair, a flagship tradition of the prestigious Catholic institution.
The event which commenced with a solemn Holy Mass was presided over by the President of the University, Rev. Fr. Bartholomew Anyanwu, in the presence of top university administrators. Also in attendance was the Catholic Education Secretary, Rev. Fr. Vincent Mesue, alongside clergy, academic staff, invited guests, and key stakeholders in education and business.
The ceremony was further graced by the presence of the President of the South West Regional Assembly, Mr. Bakoma Elango Zacheus, who attended the official opening ceremony with members of his entourage, reaffirming the Assembly’s support for education, innovation, and youth entrepreneurship.

In his remarks, Rev. Fr. Bartholomew Anyanwu expressed profound gratitude to the various partners and stakeholders whose contributions continue to make the annual fair a success. He emphasized that the Entrepreneurship and Academic Fair is a core pillar of CUIB’s entrepreneurial philosophy, providing students with the opportunity to operate businesses in real-life market conditions, translate theory into practice, and develop innovative solutions to societal challenges.
Following the official launch, the President of the South West Regional Assembly, accompanied by the President of CUIB and other university officials, undertook a guided tour of the exhibition stands, where student-owned enterprises and academic displays from the various schools of the University showcased creativity, innovation, and practical business ideas.

The 2025/2026 Entrepreneurship and Academic Fair, which began on Monday, February 2, 2026, is being held simultaneously at CUIB’s Buea and Douala campuses and will run until Saturday, February 7, 2026. The fair provides a vibrant platform for students to engage the public, attract customers and investors, and demonstrate CUIB’s commitment to professional, hands-on education rooted in Christian values.
