
An enlarged meeting of members of the laity and chaplains of prayer and action groups was held today, December 11th, 2025, at the Bishop Pius Awa Memorial Pastoral Center. The meeting, co-chaired by the Vicar for the Laity, Rev. Fr. James Chikezie, and the President of the Diocesan Pastoral Council, Mr. James Vivonge, brought together representatives of various prayer and action groups from across the Diocese.
In his opening remarks, the Chairperson of the Diocesan Pastoral Council expressed gratitude to all attendees for their presence and commitment. He encouraged members to engage in constructive and fruitful discussions for the growth and strengthening of the local Church. Participants reviewed the minutes of the previous council meeting, which were subsequently adopted.

Reports were then presented by deanery presidents, chaplains, and group leaders, detailing their activities, achievements, and the challenges encountered in carrying out their missions. The presentations reflected the progress made so far and highlighted areas that require greater collaboration and support.
During the session, the Bishop of the Diocese of Buea, His Lordship Michael Miabesue Bibi, made a brief but impactful stop to greet and encourage members. The Chief Shepherd expressed satisfaction with the coordination and dedication demonstrated by the various groups. He urged them to continue serving faithfully and responsibly in their different roles within the Church.
The meeting concluded with closing remarks from the Vicar for the Laity, Rev. Fr. James Chikezie, who thanked members for their continuous sacrifices, contributions, and commitment to the mission of the Church.
