
The Apostolic Nuncio to Cameroon and Equatorial Guinea His Grace Avelino Bettencourt alongside Bishops from across the nation have arrived in Garoua today October 3rd, 2025, in anticipation of the grand celebration commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Archdiocese of Garoua and the consecration of St. Therese of the Child Jesus Cathedral Garoua.

This significant milestone, marked by a series of religious events and community gatherings, aims to honor the journey and contributions of the Archdiocese since its establishment in 1955.

Bishops arrive Garoua for 70th anniversary celebration
The celebrations will feature a Pontifical Mass on Saturday the 4th of October 2025 presided over by the Apostolic Nuncio, alongside various activities highlighting the spiritual and social achievements of the Archdiocese over the decades.

A large congregation, including clergy, laity, and dignitaries, across the country will also be joining the host and celebrant Archbishop Faustin Ambassa Ndjodo of the Archdiocese of Garoua to give thanks to God for the innumerable blessings received over the years.
