
On July 28th, 2025, the chief shepherd of Buea Diocese his lordship Bishop Michael Bibi led a catechetical session at Saint Martin the Porres Parish in Bokwango. The doctrinal session focused on the Family Life Apostolate, a fundamental part of the Bamenda Provincial Pastoral Plan . The catechetical session aimed at deepening the faithful’s understanding on the family life apostolate commission.
The Bishop underscored that, the family is a group of one or more parents and their children living together as a unit. The family is the first domestic church, one in which the first catechesis and evangelism takes place.

The Family Life Apostolate comprises diverse groups of persons including priest and religious, catechist, laity. Additionally, persons proficient in marriage and family life counseling can also assume in bringing their expertise to enhance family life and growth.
The chief shepherd additionally emphasized the key roles of the members of the Family Life Apostolate noting that amongst other things, the members are expected to
Organize seminars and talks to families and persons to encourage proper family growth
Encourage persons co-habiting to make the union official in church
Train people who can help train others on matters of family life
Encourage responsible behavior and living in society.
Suggest, recommend and advise
couples according to the way of the church.

CHRISTIANS WISHING BISHOP BIBI A HAPPY BIRTHDAY
The local ordinary further encouraged the public to send the children to catholic schools as these schools aren’t just educational institutions, but also faith communities which lay emphasis on morals, ethics and proper upbringing. He further called on Christians to monitor and question the lifestyles of their children, to ensure accountability and check excesses.
Through this efforts, and nurturing stronger families, the effects shall be reflected in a better society .
