
Buea, July 17, 2025 , the Juridic Advisory Board meeting of the Catholic University Institute of Buea (CUIB) convened at the Bishop Conference Room, led by Bishop Michael Bibi, the Bishop of Buea and the university’s Chancellor. The gathering focused on evaluating the institution’s current academic programs, student activities, infrastructure, and operational challenges.

During the session, Rev. Fr. Batholomew Anynawu president of CUIB, presented a comprehensive report highlighting key achievements, including a student population of over 1,000, active laboratory utilization, improved internet services, and successful participation in university sports and trade fairs.

However, a challenge such as student indiscipline was acknowledged. The Board emphasized the importance of discipline in achieving holistic education. The president was urged to put in place strategies to address this and to ensure that every student has the university’s handbook.
The meeting concluded with expressions of gratitude from the Chair Bishop Michael Bibi, and a call for continued dedication to the university’s growth, with a special note of congratulations to Mgr. Jude Thaddeus Mbi Who for the first time attended the meeting in the capacity of a Monsignor in the diocese of Buea.
