On June 29, 2025, the Christians of Saints Peter and Paul University Parish Buea celebrated their 19th feast day, marking the occasion with a pastoral visit from the Bishop of Buea, His Lordship Bishop Michael Bibi.
In his welcome address, the parish priest, Rev. Father Desmond Asongacha, emphasized that the bishop’s visit was more than just a ceremonial ritual; it was an opportunity for Christians to reaffirm their commitment to seeking divine guidance in their lives.

Father Desmond recalled that the parish began as a Catholic Christian community led by Rev. Father Sylvester Suh Ngwa, created to serve the spiritual needs of students and university staff. He also expressed gratitude for the foundational contributions of Father Anthony Murphy, the first parish priest, and his successor, Father Celestine Diang, whose efforts laid the groundwork for the parish’s growth.
During his homily, the Bishop encouraged Christians to emulate the examples of their patron saints, Saint Peter and Saint Paul, both of whom were models of divine encounters and revelations.
