
Rev Father Martin Njie Educates Christians on the Pastoral Plan
On Monday 23rd June, Father Njie led a catechetical session in St. Anthony of Padua parish Buea Town, focusing on the pastoral plan. He provided valuable insights into its meaning and significance, noting that a pastoral plan is a strategic framework that guides the church’s mission and activities, outlining its vision, goals, and objectives for a specific period.
By defining and explaining the pastoral plan, He helped Christians gain a deeper understanding of its purpose and relevance to their spiritual lives. This teaching session marked an important step towards spiritual growth.

Quoting from Pope John Paul II who said “the African Church is vibrant and active and should be a model for other churches in the world,” Fr. Martin reminded the Christians that “it is their responsibility to hold their faith higher and stronger than ever”.
He also laid emphasis on the motive of the pastoral plan being it a detailed proposal and line of action set towards attaining goals and objective and reminded the Christians of their active and needed roles in other for the church to attain its set goals.
According to the laws of the church, the pastoral plan should also focus on setting out clear goals and outlines for the various commissions of the church. The commissions , which include the finance, liturgy , biblical and social commision of the church are all meant to abide to the laws and plan of the pastoral plan.
He also encouraged Christians to belong and actively participate as agents of evangelization in the family, mission stations , small Christian community and social gatherings in other to spread the gospel in their own little ways possible.
Worthy of mention, He also focused on the flexibility of the pastoral plan, stating that it can be revised according to the needs.
The teachings concluded with an engaging question-and-answer session, providing attendees with an opportunity to clarify their doubts and deepen their understanding.
