Celebrated under the theme, “You also are my witnesses because you have been with me,” the World Youth Day event inspired Bishop Bibi to encourage young Christians to boldly share the Good News through their words and actions. He urged them to be exemplary leaders steadfast in their faith, despite any challenges they may face.

Drawing from Saint Paul’s teachings, Bishop Bibi emphasized Christ’s humility and obedience, calling on the youth to embody this spirit in their own lives.
In his address, Mr. Fombat Leonard, president of the Diocese of Buea youth federation, encouraged young people to utilize their talents in service to God and called for peaceful collaboration among them, seeking the Bishop’s support in addressing their challenges. Youth chaplain Fr. Anslem Kebei also expressed gratitude to God during the event.

Acknowledging the need for further spiritual formation, Bishop Bibi emphasized the importance of intensifying youth training in faith to support their spiritual journeys.
Palm Sunday heralds the start of Holy Week, a sacred time for Christians to reflect on Christ’s passion and sacrifice. This day fulfills Old Testament prophecies, particularly from the Prophet Zechariah, with palm branches symbolizing peace and the hope derived from faith. Rather than mere objects for protection, the palms embody the celebration’s profound spiritual significance.
