Bishop Michael Bibi has called on faithful of St. Cornelius Parish, upper Bonduma, to love God and one another and to be steadfast in their faith in God.
This call was made on Sunday, the 3rd of November, 2024, during his annual pastoral visit to this parish; a moment during which he celebrated the Eucharist with the Christians, reinforcing the bond that exists between him and his Christians. He encouraged faithful to love each other for the common good and to avoid acts of jealousy and evil towards others. Quoting the three principles of love by Chiara Lubich, the prelate urged Christians to always be the first to love others, to love everyone, and to love always.
In the course of the Eucharistic celebration, the prelate administered the Sacrament of Confirmation to Five Christians and prayed that they may remain true Christians.
The pastoral visit accorded the Local Ordinary the opportunity to thank the parish priests and the Christians for their generosity to the church and for their prayers.
Addressing the Bishop at this Eucharistic celebration, the parish priests Rev. Fr. Solomon Lyonga Ikundi coined this visit as one of blessings and a time of grace. “Where the Bishop is, there is the church,” he noted. He encouraged the Bishop to remain faithful and zealous to his mission and not to worry about those he described as enemies of the church who attack the church and its people .
The pastoral visit which held within the context of the 75th anniversary of the Diocese, closed with animations by different groups; a sign of joy and fulfillment communing with their shepherd. This baby church erected as a parish in 2019 and has two mission stations,
