Priests, students of Bishop Rogan Minor Seminary and Christians, joined the Chief Custodian of Buea Diocese His Lordship Michael Bibi to commemorate ALL Souls Day this 2nd day of November 2024, at the cemetery at Small Soppo, Buea.
This yearly tradition observed by the Universal Church, is meant to pray for all the souls of the faithful departed, so that they may enjoy eternal blessedness.
In his homily, the Bishop encouraged faithful to visit the cemetery during this month of November and to pray for the souls of the faithful departed throughout the month. He explained to the Christians that the belief in the communion of saints as professed during the Apostle Creed, encompasses communion in Holy things and communion in Holy persons.
The prelate urged Christians never to forget those who have fallen asleep and told them that there is hope for the resurrection. He called on the Christians to be comfortable with the reality of death and that they should not be afraid of death but rather, they should live in peace and harmony with each other as no one knows the time when they will be called home.
Christians during the Eucharistic celebration in memory of the dead, prayed that God should be merciful in judging them and that the living may live as true children of God.
