Sunday October 27th, 2024, the Bishop of Buea and Proprietor of Buea Diocesan Schools challenged Students of Saint Anne’s High School, Limbe, to keep up with principles and practices that will lead them to success. “You are a privileged set. Be disciplined and do not disappoint your parents , teachers and Your Bishop. Do good and avoid evil. Stand firm to principles and practices that are correct and wave away vain noises, “ Bishop Michael Bibi told the students as he officiated the Inaugural Mass of the school for the 2024/2025 academic year., at Holy Family Parish, Limbe.
The Inaugural Mass was an avenue for the Bishop to join students, staff and administrators of Saint Anne’s High School to thank God for the successes recorded in the past year and to pray for His guidance and protection throughout the new school year. Bishop Michael Bibi encouraged the students to be committed to learning and to uphold the values of the institution. He told the students that the church will continue to promote education especially the education of the girl child, to build their talents and gifts .
The proprietor encouraged the students to use their talents for the growth of the church and their community. He applauded teachers of the school for their enormous sacrifices in providing the students with holistic training. The Eucharistic celebration unfolded within the framework of the solemnity of All Saints. The Local Ordinary during his homily, urged Christians to reflect on who a Saint is. He challenged them to live holy lives and to keep themselves as pure as God, for only what is pure , he noted, will see God.
The Eucharistic celebration was followed by a visit to the school’s campus where the proprietor interacted with his students and staff, understanding their concerns and reassuring them of his actions in addressing some of the needs raised including the provision of a spacious hall, sports complex, and a bigger laboratory among others.
Sr. Marceline Tatah, principal of Saint Anne’s High school, saluted the Bishop for the innovations his presence has brought to the school within a short period of time. She reassured the proprietor of quality while noting their commitment to impacting moral values to the students.
Saint Anne’s High School it is worth noting, currently houses a population of 768 students.
