The Bishop of the Diocese of Buea, His Lordship Michael Bibi, has extended his solidarity to the victims of the devastating flood that struck Mayo-Danay Division in the Far North region on August 28th, 2024. The disaster has displaced over 2,000 people and claimed several lives.
In a pastoral letter addressed to the Christians of the Diocese, Bishop Bibi announced that *Sunday, October 6th, 2024*, has been designated as a day for all parishes within the Diocese to collect support for the flood victims. This initiative is part of a broader effort led by the National Episcopal Conference’s Commissions for Caritas and Education to provide aid to those affected by the disaster.
The letter further emphasizes that schools within the Diocese of Buea will also make generous contributions as a sign of solidarity with the flood victims.
Bishop Bibi concluded by urging all Christians to continue praying for “the deceased, the homeless, and the suffering victims of the floods,” emphasizing the need for both spiritual and material support in this time of crisis.
