The Catholic University Institute of Buea (CUIB) has announced the introduction of Bachelor of Science degrees in Nursing, Midwifery, and Medical Laboratory Science for the 2024/2025 academic year. This new development comes in response to the Cameroonian government’s recent decision to suspend admissions into the Higher National Diploma (HND) programs at all private universities across the country.
The four-year programs aim to equip students with the essential skills and knowledge needed to excel in the rapidly evolving healthcare sector. In a press release signed by the President of CUIB, Rev. Fr. Bartholomew Anyanwu, on August 27, 2024, the university also announced a reduction in tuition fees for these programs, making them more accessible to prospective students. Additionally, various partial scholarship schemes will be available to support students financially.
