Buea, Cameroon – In anticipation of the 60th anniversary of the Catholic Women Association (CWA) in Cameroon, Bishop Michael Bibi took time after his regular Monday teachings today July 22nd 2024 to inspect key sites in Buea.
Accompanied by about a dozen priests, the Bishop visited the Divine Mercy Co-Cathedral and the Bishop Pius Awa Memorial Pastoral Center, ensuring that preparations are on track for the historic celebration scheduled for July 24th, 2024.
Bishop Bibi’s first stop was the Divine Mercy Co-Cathedral, which has seen significant transformation under his leadership. Here, the Bishop ensured that the monumental structure was ready for the upcoming event, checking on the basement, toilet installations, and the presbytery to confirm all was set.
Following the co-cathedral visit, Bishop Bibi proceeded to the Bishop Pius Awa Memorial Pastoral Center, where workers were racing against time to prepare the 1500-capacity hall, the largest in Buea. This venue will host the reception for the CWA members.
The Bishop engaged in discussions with the on-site engineers, who assured him that everything would be ready for the anniversary.
In the sideline of his visit to the pastoral Centre, Bishop Bibi encountered a group of early-arriving CWA women from various parts of the country. The women welcomed him with songs and dances, adding a festive spirit to the inspection tour.
The 60th anniversary of the CWA is a momentous occasion, and Bishop Bibi’s hands-on approach highlights the significance of the celebration for the Catholic community in Cameroon.
