Some youths within the Diocese of Buea are participating at the 2024 Vocation Camp, holding at the Bishop Rogan Minor Seminary in Small Soppo Buea on the theme “Proclaim the Good News”. According to the Vocations Director Rev. Fr. Jude Visoh, the Vocation Camp is meant to orientate candidates who aspire for priestly formation, and also those for who aim to live religious lives, on the different Dioceses, Religious Congregations and their charisms so as to enable participants identify their dreams and connect to the choice they wish for themselves.
During this activity, the different formation houses and religious congregations present their charisms to participants who on their part build their passion towards what they find attractive and bond with the different formation houses as per their dreams in serving in the vineyard of God.
During a presentation On Wednesday July 7th, 2024, Rev. Fr. Kestine Nyamjo talked on the virtue of Patience as inevitable in the lives of Priests and Religious. He reiterated the importance of Patience which he says helps aspirants to remain focused on the end goal. He further told participants that prayer is a key aspect in the life of formation and that they should always pray for God to give them the graces they deserve to persevere amidst setbacks and challenges.
The 2024 Vocation Camp has brought together Religious congregations from Bamenda, Yaounde, Douala etc including Brothers of Saint Martin De Porres, Sisters of Christ, Congregation of the Sisters Servants of the Holy Heart of Mary, , Mill Hill Missionaries, and Servants of Mary Ministers of the Sick just to mention these few.
The Vocation camp it is worth noting started on the 7th of July and will run until the 12th of July 2024.
