Celebrating the Feast Day of their parish Saint St. Anthony of Padua, Bishop Michael Bibi on a Pastoral Visit to St. Anthony of Padua Parish Buea Town lauded the Christians for witnessing the faith since 1962 when they were raised to a parish. He encouraged them to remain prayerful and to uphold their faith as the Parish looks forward to celebrating its diamond jubilee come February 9th, 2025.
This Sunday, June 23rd, 2024, the Christian populace of St. Anthony of Padua Parish Buea Town, welcomed with excitement the Local Ordinary of Buea Diocese Michael Bibi, to their community for a Eucharistic celebration marking day two of his annual pastoral visit aimed at praying with his flock in this part of the Diocese.
Drawing from the Gospel of Mark, the Prelate reminded Christians that they should not be afraid of the challenges and storms that come their way for Jesus is God and Man, and He has control over everything. He urged them to look up to Jesus when faced with difficulties, be it in their families or places of work. He called on them to surrender their intellects and will to God for Him to use them according to His Will.
Speaking on behalf of the St. Anthony of Padua Christian community, the PPC chair Lady congratulated the works of Bishop Michael Bibi and his relentless efforts in completing the Divine Mercy Co-Cathedral and the Bishop Pius Awa Memorial Pastoral Centre; the two anniversary projects for the 75th anniversary of the Diocese of Buea. While enumerating their pastoral growth as a Christian community, the chair voiced that this mission driven Parish is determined to always be a reflection of the Bishop’s dream for the Diocese.
The twin celebration witnessed different musical presentations and tradition dance displays from the different groups and mission stations of the parish. The height of the festivity was recorded as the priests, Christians and their bishop danced blissfully to crown the event.
