Christians of Our Lady Queen of the Holy Rosary Parish Livanda Mile 2, Limbe, have been encouraged to live the teachings of the Lord, and to be true proclaimers of the word as Jesus Himself teaches.
During a pastoral visit to this Christian community on Sunday January 28th 2024, Bishop Michael Bibi told faithful that the practice of the word of God in their lives should influence the lives of others so that they may be converted and follow Christ. The chief shepherd challenged Christians to make sure that there exist a balance between their work and commitment to the church and that to their families back at home. A true Christian should take care of his or her responsibilities both at home and in the church for this he says is the right way to serve God.
In the course of the two days pastoral visit the prelate congratulated the priests of this parish for their dedication in serving the Christ lay faithful entrusted to their care. He called on both the Christians and the priests to work in collaboration, avoiding any sort of discord that may shake their faith.
It was with delight that the Parish Priest Reverend Fr. Cliford Fonji and his Parishioners welcomed the prelate, expressing their achievements within a short period of time. The parish pastoral council chairperson Mr. Motiti, noted the growth of the Christian population stating that it is made up of over 1, 800 Christians, 12 commission, and 19 active small Christian communities. He also announced that the parish has acquired five pieces of land for the development of the church.
Responding to the Christian population, Bishop Bibi thanked them for the many sacrifices made in building the church and encouraged them not to relent in growing their Christian lives. He expressed gratitude to God for the opportunity to meet again with his Christians and to commune with them this new year 2024.
The Pastoral visit started on Saturday the 27th of January 2024 during which the prelate visited all three mission stations of this congregation, praying with them and attending to concerns related to their Christianity.
