Priests of the Diocese of Buea, have been updated on the key activities of the Diocese for the pastoral year 2024. This update was made by the chief shepherd Bishop Michael Bibi during the presbyterium held on January 24th 2024 at the Bishop Pius Awa Memorial Pastoral Center, within the context of the Buea Diocesan Pastoral week.
Welcoming the priests for the first time in the new year, Bishop Bibi disclosed that the new pastoral year is pregnant with many activities in line with the launching of the 75th anniversary of the Diocese scheduled for April 18th, 2024, the preparations to host the National Episcopal Conference of Cameroon in January 2025, the Celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Diocese on the 24th of April 2025, and the celebration of the 25th anniversary of priestly ordination of Bishop Michael Bibi in 2025. These events he emphasized are key to the diocese of Buea and requires the commitment and sacrifices of all the priests.
While opening the floor for deliberations and contributions towards a successful planning for the year, the prelate expressed thanks to brother priests for their commitment in carrying out their pastoral obligations.
Areas looked into during the Presbyterium includes the activities for the jubilee year, updates on the Bishop Pius Awa Memorial Pastoral Center, the forthcoming pilgrimage to Rome , the celebration of the 10th anniversary of death of Bishop Pius Awa, just to mention these few.
