Visitatio Ad Limina Apostolorum 2023, enters day two this Tuesday of September 12, 2023. The Catholic Bishops of Cameroon in Rome for this major event, began their day with the celebration of Holy Mass presided over by the Archbishop of Yaounde His Excellency Jean Mbarga while the Homily was delivered by the Bishop of Mbalmayo His Excellency Joseph Ndi.
During his Homily, Bishop Joseph Ndi reminded the Prelates to be rooted in Christ and ensure consistency in prayers in the course of major decision making, just as Christ did in the Gospel.
Present at this celebration of Mass was the Cameroon Ambassador to the Holy See Mr. Antoine Zanga, and the Cameroon Ambassador to Italy Mr. Sebastien FOUMANE.
After the Mass, the Bishops left for their visit to the Dicastery for Evangelization; Section for the First Evangelization and New Particular Churches ( including the Pontifical Mission Societies ).
They will later today visit two other Dicasteries; the Dicastery for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments, and the Dicastery for Promoting Christian Unity.
Visitatio Ad Limina Apostolorum 2023 runs till Sunday the 17th of September 2023, and it is an obligatory visit made by all Bishops to Rome during which they pray at the tombs of St. Peter and St. Paul. It is also a forum where the Bishops meet with Pope Francis and Vatican officials.
