During his visit to the Vatican at the end of September 2022, His Lordship Michael M. Bibi, Bishop of Buea, met with the Prefect for the Dicastery for Communication and one of the key points of the visit was the discussion focused on the DMRTV project.
The Bishop told the Dicastery that one of his motivations for creating the TV station, which was already conceived before he came, was the yearning of the people of God to be nourished spiritually and the great role played by the radio in reaching out to Christians during the COVID-19 Pandemic.
The Bishop went ahead to explain that after the authorization and months of planning , Divine Mercy Radio Television went operational on May 1st, 2022 with the content mostly being productions from his pastoral visits and major diocesan events compiled by the deputy station manager, Joyce Mbong, who was trained by the Dicastery for Communication.
The Prefect was overwhelmed with the progress of the DMRTV project and the work it’s doing in evangelization.
At the end of the meeting , the Dicastery praised the efforts of the bishop, who is leaving no stone unturned as far as evangelization is concerned.
