The 32nd session of the National Conference of Pontifical Mission Societies has opened in the Diocese of Buea this Sunday, the 12th of January 2025 under the theme ” Go and Invite Everyone to the Banquet”. The meeting was launched with a Pontifical Mass presided at by Bishop Emmanuel Dassi in the Divine Mercy Co-Cathedral in Molyko-Buea.
The meeting is an occasion for all the diocesan directors of the Pontifical Mission Societies in Cameroon to evaluate their activities over the past year and to put in place strategies for a successful year ahead.
Speaking during the Homily, His Lordship Michael Bibi, Bishop of the Diocese of Buea, highlighted that the Pontifical Missionary Societies is aimed at assisting the Holy Father Pope Francis in fostering the work of evangelization. In fostering the spread of the Gospel, members are expected to hand on the entire truth to the people of God. He reminded Christians of the importance of witnessing to the Gospel and the relevance of social media in handing over the Faith.
The National director of the Pontifical Mission Societies, Father Cletus Ashu Amah speaking during the celebration thanked His Lordship Michael Bibi for his hospitality and for hosting this important meeting in the Diocese of Buea, and for all the contributions by the Diocese of Buea.
