February 9, 2025, Religious convened at Divine Mercy Co-Cathedral in Molyko-Buea to commemorate the 29th World Day of Consecrated Life 2025, at the level of the Diocese of Buea. The Pontifical Mass celebrated within the context of the 75th anniversary of Buea Diocese was presided at by His Lordship Michael Bibi, Bishop of the Diocese of Buea.
In his homily, the prelate Focused on the importance of the celebration of the Eucharist , noting that the life of every Religious should be centered on the Eucharist, which is a sign of unity and communion with God and with one another. He urged them to recommit themselves to the devotion in the Eucharist .

The celebration gave the Local Ordinary an opportunity to render gratitude to members of the 16 Religious congregations working in the Diocese of Buea in different areas, including health, social welfare and education just to mention these few.. He thanked them for selflessly using their gifts and charisms in serving the Diocese and reminded them that it is the grace of God that has made them who they are.

The president of Religious of the Ecclesiastical Province of Bamenda Fr. Gaston thanked Christians who joined them to pray on this significant day of their ministry and reminded his brother and sister religious of their choice to live a life of Chastity , poverty, and obedience. He encouraged them to be present and committed to the pastoral vission of the Diocese of Buea. He reassured the Bishop of their service and collaboration in the growth of the Church and the Diocese in particular.

On this day, Christians are invited to highlight the gift of religious life and pray for those discerning a religious vocation. St. John Paul II established the World Day of Prayer for Consecrated Life in 1997. consecrated men and women are called to spread the light and love of Jesus Christ through their unique witness of selfless service, such as caring for the poor, the contemplative work of prayer, or through their professional careers.
The event witnessed the Blessing of Religious who have served the church for 25 years and more, by Bishop Michael Bibi.
